Messaging

One thread per client. Nobody else can read it.

The messages module gives every client one private conversation with you, inside the portal they are already using — instead of a reply-all email chain or a DM on whichever app happened to be open. It is not a shared team inbox and not a broadcast tool: one thread, one client, one business on the other end.

How it works

Three steps, start to finish.

No configuration screen full of settings to get right first — pick it, write it, send it.

  1. 01

    Add a messages page

Included in every template and available to add to any portal, with a short intro line you write once.

  2. 02

You and the client talk there

A client sends a message, you reply from your own client view — a plain, ordered conversation, up to 5,000 characters per message.

  3. 03

    Nothing else sees it

The thread belongs to that one client relationship. No other client, and nobody outside the portal, can read it.

What's included

What this actually does.

Read from the product, not written to sound impressive — every line below is true of the module as it ships.

01

One thread per client relationship

Messages are tied to you and that client, not to a single page — add a second messages page and it shows the same conversation, so a client never has two half-finished threads with you.

02

A generous, bounded length

Up to 5,000 characters per message — long enough for a real explanation, bounded so nobody can paste in something absurd.

03

Private by construction

A client can only ever open their own thread with you. There is no shared inbox and no way to browse another client’s conversation.

04

Ordinary text, ordered by time

No chat effects, no read receipts to manage, no typing indicators — a plain record of what was said and when, which is what a client actually needs from it.

Straight answers

A couple of things worth asking.

Is this a group chat or a team inbox?

No — it is one private thread between you and one client. There is no way to add a third person to it, and no shared inbox view across clients.

Can a client message me before I’ve replied to something else?

Yes, it is an ordinary back-and-forth thread, not a ticket queue — either side can send a message at any time.

Do I get notified when a client sends one?

Unread messages are marked in your client view so you can see who is waiting on a reply when you sign in.

Ready when you are

Send your next client somewhere better than a email thread.

Every module on this page comes with the one payment — nothing here is held back for a higher tier, because there is no higher tier.
