Comparison
OurPortal compared with Hubflo.
Hubflo is a good product with a great deal more in it than ours. It is also $67–$262 a month. This page sets the two side by side with every claim sourced and dated, and it ends with the cases where you should buy theirs instead — because most of the time these two are not really competing for the same person.
The difference underneath
One is a subscription. One is a purchase.
Everything else in the table follows from this, so it is worth a paragraph on its own.
Why they charge monthly
Hubflo sells a platform that keeps growing — automation, integrations with your accounting software, a mobile app, staff permissions, a support team. That is genuinely expensive to build and to keep running, and a subscription is the honest way to pay for it. Their plans run $67–$262 a month, which is $804–$3,144 a year, every year, and the things you get for it are real.
Why we charge once
OurPortal is a much smaller thing on purpose: one owner, their clients, and the ten pages that a first client actually needs to see. A product that small does not justify a monthly bill, so it does not have one — you pay $199 and it is yours. The trade is real, and it is the whole table below: less product, paid for once.
Side by side
15 rows, sources on every one.
Each Hubflo claim carries the page it came from and the month it was read. Their plans and prices change; ours may too. Where they are ahead, the row says so.

Who each one is for
These are not the same purchase.
One is software for a firm. One is a portal for a person who has just started charging for their work.
OurPortal is for you if
- You work alone, or with one or two people, and every tool you add is money out of your own pocket.
- You have a handful of clients, and a plan sized for 50 clients is capacity you will not use.
- You want a client to arrive somewhere that looks deliberate — not a shared folder and a thread of emails.
- You would rather pay once and stop thinking about it than add a ninth monthly charge.
- You want the whole product on day one, rather than discovering which parts your plan does not include.
Hubflo is for a firm
Their own pages aim at professional-services businesses running teams — consultants, accountants, law firms, agencies — and the product matches that: seats and roles, client permissions, automation, integrations with the software a firm already runs on, and paid help getting set up. If you have colleagues, recurring engagements and a stack to connect, you are the customer they built for, and the monthly price is buying you things a one-off portal cannot.

Buy theirs, not ours
8 reasons to close this tab.
Every line is something OurPortal genuinely cannot do. If one of them is your situation, Hubflo will make you happier than we will, and we would rather say it here than take your money first.
- 01
You have staff. We have one owner login per portal; they sell seats and internal roles.
- 02
You want an app your clients install, with push notifications. Ours is a website.
- 03
Your work runs through Gmail, HubSpot, QuickBooks, Xero or Zapier and you need the portal wired into it.
- 04
You need to text clients rather than message them inside the portal.
- 05
You want your portal on your own domain today, not on a subdomain with your business name in it.
- 06
You store a great deal per client — video, raw footage, large archives.
- 07
You want the portal to be your project manager too: boards, recurring tasks, time and expenses.
- 08
You want someone paid to set it up with you, and a named person to call afterwards.
Hubflo is a trademark of its owner and is used here only to name the product being compared. The Hubflo column describes what their public pages said in August 2026; plans and prices change, so check their site for today’s. Their pricing page is the place to check.
If the smaller tool is the right one
One payment, ten clients, no renewal date.
If you read the list above and none of it was you, this is the cheaper answer by a wide margin — and the whole of it is on the pricing page, in public, before you pay.
